try columbia outlet store....you can get fantastic winter boots there for under $40...I got mine for $20...unbelievable price! They have all kinds of styles too...not just rugged ones.
And the columbia boots will last you way longer than 2 years....you will probably get sick of them and get a new pair before you wear them out! ;)
